Kwan Se Um Sang Ji Sah

Furnace Mountain, established by Zen Master Dae Gak and members of the Lexington Zen Center in 1986, is a retreat center located on seven-hundred acres of woodland in rural Kentucky. A traditional Zen temple, Kwan Se Um Sang Ji Sah, was completed in August of 1994. Furnace Mountain offers a variety of retreat opportunites for those wishing to practice the Buddha-Dharma in a rural residential setting. See www.furnacemountain.org for more details.

Zen Master Dae Gak has studied Zen in both the Korean and Japanese traditions and is a Dharma Heir of Korean Zen Master Seung Sahn, receiving final transmission in 1994. He has taught internationally and is presently the guiding teacher of centers in the US, UK and Europe. He is a clinical psychologist and author of Going Beyond Buddha.
